Screening of Giuseppe Verdi’s Rigoletto - new direction by Stefano Vizioli of the historical set up by Pierluigi Samaritani

Emilia-Romagna Region Promotional Events

Festival Verdi is the only festival exclusively devoted to studying and staging the works by Giuseppe Verdi.
First organized by the Teatro Regio di Parma in 2001 on the occasion of the centenary of the passing away of the Maestro, it has since then guested extraordinary opera singers, conductors, directors.
The Festival is hosted in places of great fascination and history, as the Teatro Regio in Parma, the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi in Busseto and the extraordinary XVII century wooden theatre Teatro Farnese in Parma.

To enjoy some of the most representative works produced by the Festival, the Teatro Regio di Parma and the office for Cultural activities abroad of Emilia-Romagna Region, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institutes network, have organized a series of screenings proposing five full-length operas from Festival Verdi.

The operas are introduced by expert from the Music Conservatory in Sofia with anecdotes and information useful to understand their artistic purport.
