Upper-East-Side - 14'20'' - Antitesi

Dance

UPPER-EAST-SIDE
From grammar to geography, information travels creating a linguistic impact on the space, in a never-ending desire to exchange, to breathe life into the dance as an environmental, explorative situation. A body that is dancing truly does so when it allows another dance to exist alongside it. In this way, we create a landscape; in this way, we move to upper quarters.

14'20''
The title 14'20" simply derives from the duration of this piece. Our life seems to be determined by time. We do not know what time is (...) but one thing us sure: our time is determined by two minuscule moments, the moment in which we are born and the moment in which we die.

ANTITESI
The choreographer reveals his fascination with opposites: local and global, slow and fast, masculine and feminine, abstract and concrete. The work draws inspiration both from the ancient and the modern, in the spirit of “everything available in real time” that defines our lives in this dense and fast-paced Millennium, ready to break all the patterns without ever give up on the past.
