Stories of Knights, Enchanted Places, and Extraordinary Journeys of the Mind
A
multimedia performance that combines theater, dance, music and art in a special homage to of one of the world's most influential poems,
Orlando Furioso by
Ludovico Ariosto (1474-1533), presented in celebration of
the 500th anniversary of its pubblication and on the occasion of the 16th annual
Italian Language Week in the World by the artistic project
Il Ruggiero, composed of
Emanuela Marcante and Daniele Tonini.
The stories and unforgettable characters of
Orlando Furioso (first printed in 1516) are sung and narrated on Renaissance arias and original musical intonations, intertwined with musical arrangements of madrigals and baroque operas focused on the
Furioso and in dialogue with a visual imagery that binds it to the landscape and art of Northern Italy from where il Ruggiero hails.
