CliCiak is a national competition for still photographers which aims at bringing this profession out and also at creating a photo library of Italian contemporary cinema.
Born in 1998, the competition compares pictures of movies, documentaries, short film and TV series. An expert panel selects the best black and white and colour photos and photo series. Moreover, two special prizes are awarded for “Portrait of an actor on set” and for a photographer participating for the first time.
This year the jury composed by the photographer Franco Bellomo, the film critic Cesare Biarese, the director Maurizio Zaccaro, awarded Maria Marin (Noi e la Giulia), best b/w, Angelo R. Turetta (Non essere cattivo) and Monica Chiappara (Mia madre), best b/w series ex aequo, Paolo Ciriello (La pazza gioia) and Alberto Novelli (Io e lei) best colour ex aequo), Umberto Montiroli (Maraviglioso Boccaccio) and Gianni Fiorito (Youth – La giovinezza), best colour series ex aequo.

The exhibition curated by Antonio Maraldi presents a selection of the more than 1.500 pictures sent by about forty set photographers.
