Lucio Dalla, a poet of song

Conventions/Seminars/Meetings

As Italian songwriters repertoire is very rich but not very popular in France, the Italian Cultural Institute of Paris organizes a series of meetings on Italian “cantautori”. The first one concerns a great artist from Bologna, Lucio Dalla, who passed away five years ago.
Fine musician and funambolist of words, the author of “Come è profondo il mare” created some of the most successful songs of Italian contemporary pop music. His peerless style, blending poetry, irony and emotions, has won millions of Italians’ hearth.
The meetings will be animated by Paolo Modugno, professor of Italian Civilization at Sciences Po University. After a short introduction of the author, Dalla’s most famous songs will be listened /viewed through videos, while the projection of the words in Italian will help understanding the texts and also singing, for those who would like to!
