Living in the Choir: Silence, Music, and Play in Early Modern Italian Convents

From April 17 to May 1, Cappella Artemisia, a female ensemble from Bologna of voices and instruments specializing for over 25 years in early music from Italian convents, performs in the United States with a program entitled “INVINCIBLE! 17th-Century Italian Nuns Sing Of Virgins And Martyrs”.
The concert presents works composed by and for cloistered Italian nuns and dedicated to the great women of the Church.
On the occasion of the concert in Providence, the ensamble attends the conference "Living in the Choir: Silence, Music, and Play in Early Modern Italian Convents".
