Franco Fontana

Franco Fontana is born in Modena (in 1933) and lives and works in Cognento (Modena).
He is one of the star of postwar Italian and international photography. He has re-invented the color as a medium and not only as documentary, through an original –sometimes challenging- analysis of natural and structured landscape, looking for new signs, structures, chromatic surfaces related to his creative imagination. His landscapes are on the border between representation and abstraction, the view becomes a vision and suggests a metaphysical atmosphere.
His works are exposed in major museums around the world.
