On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Gioacchino Rossini’s death, Artemis Danza faces one of his most famous operas, “The Barber of Seville”. A pièce Monica Casadei describes as “ballet d’action”, focused on the character of Figaro.
But who is he, actually? What would happen to him, if he lived today? In every situation, Casadei’s Barber is a sort of successful businessman. He’s the multitasker par excellence, with his intellectual vigour, his ability to always find the proper topic of conversation, to bring people together and, above all, to turn everything in its own favour. On stage, the entire Company plays the role of Figaro. The choreography is a strong combination of dazzle and grace.
