“There’s nothing here. Actually, there’s me. Nothing and me. Nothing is called Nothing. It lives with me, all around me.” So begins the story of young Lilà who, after losing her mother and being left with her grief-stricken father, creates
an imaginary friend, Nothing. Lilà spends her days with Nothing doing nothing. But Nothing, unlike her, is always good-humoured and contrasts her profound indolence with delicate and constructive initiative. To her “There’s nothing to do”, Nothing replies, “Everything can come from nothing”…
Me and Nothing is an extraordinarily deep and moving tale with an important message that, through
wise and
poetic language, shows us how weakness and fragility can be transformed into strength and that something precious can come from absence and longing.
Teatro Gioco Vita’s personal theatrical language is ever present in this production. The fusion of
shadows and actors aims to gently involve the young audience to the discovery of Lilà and her beautiful blue garden.
