The Teatro dei risvegli (Theatre of awakening) is a project dedicated to people with coma outcomes. It is carried out through theatre laboratories by the “Amici di Luca” association in Bologna since 2003.
On the occasion of the 21st Italian National Day of Awakenings for research on coma, under the High Patronage of the Italian Republic President, and of the 5th European Day of Awakenings, under the High Patronage of the European Parliament, the show Hamlet Experience 2.0, realized by the association Gli Amici di Luca in collaboration with TeatroAperto/Teatro Dehon of Bologna, is on stage in València.
Theatre is a now consolidated practice in the processes of re-socialization of people suffering from coma experiences. The applied method helps the patients to recover not only their physical and mental function but also the capacity to relate to themselves and to others.
The text of Hamlet has been adapted for the show in order to make it shorter and nearer to the habits of a group used to express by mean of playing, in not much verbal and very free situations.

Meetings, seminars, and theatre workshops will accompany the performance, besides the exhibition by photographer Gabriele Fiolo I’m Amleto, realized in co-operation with Tempo e Diaframma association.
