"Morandi. Infinite Resonance"

Exhibitions

A comprehensive overview of Morandi’s work (Bologna, 1890-1964), one of the most significant and unclassifiable artists in the history of twentieth century art.
The exhibition is curated by Daniela Ferrari and Beatrice Avanzi and presents 109 works that cover all the themes the artist loved, primarily still life, landscapes, and vases of flowers. The Morandi Museum is among the main lenders, with a loan of 30 works by the Istituzione Bologna Musei: 10 oil paintings, 1 watercolor painting, 6 drawings, and 13 etchings.
The exhibition also proposes a selection of works by other contemporary artists who managed to establish a dialogue with the language of the Italian artist in different media - photography, painting, sculpture, and ceramics -, such as Tony Cragg, Tacita Dean, Joel Meyerowitz, Luigi Ontani, Rachel Whiteread, Edmund de Waal, Alfredo Alcaín, and Gerardo Rueda.
