Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto is guest of the Italy Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai and presents a project for a new form of immersive dance that promotes three MicroDances - short pieces (of six-eight minutes duration) performed in the most restrictive of spaces. The project explores the different ways dance can be enjoyed: it eludes the confines of stage dynamics and shortens the distance separating spectator from performer, creating a continuum between the observer and the object of observation from which to solicit an aesthetic and emotional experience.

Virtual Dance for Real People is a provocation, an experiment that combines dance with technology thanks to the use of VR and 360° videos.
Three performances – Shelter by Saul Daniele Ardillo, Kepler and Meridiana by Diego Tortelli – are presented through oculus, nevertheless they maintain a special relationship with the viewer: technology is not the object but the language of a new work, of a digital but never abstract dance.
Ritual and sacrifice are the key to interpreting Shelter by Saul Daniele Ardillo. Diego Tortelli puts two asymmetrical bodies in dialogue in Meridiana and creates micro / macro-worlds with Kepler, an almost science-fiction choreography.
