The street performance WALL CRACKS, produced in the frame of the
European Project MAUERSPRINGER – Wall Jumpers, is the result of a long creative process started in 2011, when the company based in Faenza gave birth to
Borderless, a theatre workshop with Italian non-professional actors and refugees.
Ignorance rises walls while knowledge makes them tumble down.
WALL CRACKS is a show about high walls of division that are still built day by day. There are so many walls that they look like a gigantic labyrinth when you watch them from the sky. The actors will be stopped by these walls, they try to get to the other side but they are refused. They will try again and again and search for new ways. But if you don’t have a valid passport or if you are different, you won’t get through.

The show is introduced in Fredrikstad in the frame of "Integrated - disintegrated", a project of collaboration between Teatro Due Mondi and Studium Actoris international theatre ensamble that, among the various themes, wants to address the growing radicalization of young people. Just to reach the young audience, the show is proposed in the
Månefestivalen (The Moon Festival) music festival programme. Moreover, the workshop “Borderless” takes place in the previous days (July 26-30, at Studium Actoris in Kråkerøy), and some of the participants will be on stage together with the actors of Teatro Due Mondi.
Besides Studium Actoris, the partners of the project are: SAFT, Månefestivalen, Norsk Folkehjelp, Akroparken Fredrikstad, Gamlebyen Handelsforening, Tourist office "Visit Fredrikstad og Hvaler", Norwegian Ministry for Culture, Region Viken, Town of Fredrikstad. The event is supported by the Italian Cultural Institute in Oslo.
