Frankenstein’s shadows

Frankenstein is a monster, body of many bodies, life arriving backwards, from death. As a being "not born of woman," the creature is fabricated, not procreated: it emancipates itself from reproduction and biology as destiny, opening up to the outcomes of cyberfeminism and xenofeminism.
Frankenstein's shadows is the result of the research path with the Master students of the 'Hochschule der Künste Bern' (December 12, 2022 – January 19, 2023): an eclectic immersion in the "Frankenstein matter" that is vast and overwhelming and will then be the subject of Motus' new show that will debut in Fall 2023.
The title originates from Chris Baldick's famous text In Frankenstein's Shadow: Myth, Monstrosity, and Nineteenth-Century Writing, a study of the ways in which class struggle has been encoded through Shelley's novel.
