An album of photographs is a time machine: every photograph is a story, every story is a window to elsewhere – to ourselves in the past, to our loved ones, to the places we lived. Going through an album means to sink into our unconsciousness, in our past lives and glances.
Memory and forgetfulness are the key words that motivated Kepler-452’s Album, a show that meets with memory and its fading: physiologically, when old age and degenerative pathologies affect it; materially, when a catastrophe, like a flood, drags in a wave of grey mud a life’s objects; social, when the loss of memory is the removal of what we were, and mirror the impossibility of imagining what we could be.
The company, experimenting with a non-frontal spatiality, together with devices and forms of direct and audiovisual projection, composes the performance collecting stories and images from various parts of Italy and Europe, meeting people and communities.
A «scenic album», written by Enrico Baraldi, Riccardo Tabilio and Nicola Borghesi, and interpreted by the latter.
An album without borders: an attempt and a search ignited by an image suggested by the animal world: how is it possible that all the eels of the world, at a certain point of their life, travel tens of thousands of kilometres on the bottom of the oceans to find themselves, driven by an ancestral memory, all together in the same place, to reproduce, die, be born again.

from 14/09/2023 to 14/09/2023

In May 2022 Kepler-452 won one of the 12 production calls promoted by the European project Stronger Peripheries: A Southern Coalition supported by Creative Europe.
Album is the third of twelve international productions to be made and co-produced by production tandems within the European project, whose partners include L'arboreto - Teatro Dimora di Mondaino.
The production tandem that led to the creation of Kepler-452's performance involves as co-producers the partners Pergine Spettacolo Aperto, Pergine (IT); ProProgressione, Budapest (HU); L'arboreto - Teatro Dimora, Mondaino (IT).
After a path of residencies between Italy and Hungary, Album premiered in Italy last July at the Pergine Spettacolo Aperto festival and now makes its European debut in Budapest, at the Bethlen Téri Színház Theater, thanks to ProProgressione.
Two performances are scheduled: at 6:30 pm and at 8:30 pm.

Kepler-452 was founded in 2015 in Bologna by Nicola Borghesi (author, director and actor), Enrico Baraldi (author and director) and Paola Aiello (author and actress). Since its foundation, the theatre company has cultivated an ambition, a desire, an urgency: to open the doors of the theatres, to go out, to observe, through the lens of the stage, what is outside, in the unshakeable conviction that reality has an autonomous dramaturgical force, just waiting to be organised on stage.
The theatrical formats made by Kepler-452 range from the on-stage involvement of non-professionals (or world-actors, as they prefer to call them) on the basis of their own biographies, to theatrical reportages that transform investigations of reality into performative moments, to the creation of audio-guided routes and other devices for interacting with urban space, and the making of the Festival 20 30, which, starting in 2014, has brought several hundred under-30s onto the stage in an attempt to trace a generational fresco.
