GRAND JETÉ is a choreographic project by Silvia Gribaudi with the MM Contemporary Dance Company.
Grand Jeté, a bit split in the air, is one of the most impressive and virtuoso jumps in ballet. In this brief escape from gravity, everything seems possible. In her new work, choreographer Silvia Gribaudi takes the Grand Jeté to explore endings as a source of new beginnings. What is at the other side of this momentary suspension in the air? How much effort does this take-off towards the unknown require? What kind of adventures can a landing bring? Through movement and with the ten dancers of MM Contemporary Dance Company, Gribaudi discovers the transformational power of this explosive leap. Together they revolt against the irreversibility of any ending by constantly taking of anew.
