The conference conceived by Instabili Vaganti introduces the spectator into the complex process that led the company to create the experimental theatre performance The Global City.
As retracing the stages of a contemporary Marco Polo, the author of the text and the director of the work guide listeners into the depths of their own ‘Global City’ – an invisible city made visible thanks to a process of evocation of memory and artistic transposition of memory. A city at the same time unreal and real, as composed of fragments of cities, numbered memories, recomposed in the dystopic map of a single global city.
During the conference, Anna Dora Dorno and Nicola Pianzola will show some video fragments of the performance and of the research stages of the project. They will also quote some passages from the book The Global City, edited by Cue press in 2020 and written by journalist and theatre critic Simina Maria Frigerio, who followed the whole process of research and production of the show.
from 23/02/2024 to 23/02/2024
The conference takes place on the occasion of the staging of the show The Global City in Delhi (February 18) and Srinagar (February 20) within the Bharat Rang Mahotsav (International Theatre Festival of India) organized by the National School of Drama.
Instabili Vaganti’s tour in India will continue in Nagaland, in Kohima, for a stage of research, exchange, and artistic co-creation within the ‘Beyond Borders’ international project, developed in co-operation with TaFMA – the Task Force for Music and Arts of the Nagaland Government, one of the international partners of the project (February 26 - March 6).
