“We would like to beat the word ‘dance’ with a hammer until it becomes a broad, thin foil, capable of engaging gesture and movement in a general way. We would like to make the word ‘dance’ to overflow, to run far, until it reaches unthinkable places.”


On the occasion of the staging of Le Sacre du Printemps at the Schaubühne Lindenfels, Dewey Dell opens a two-day workshop to people that have an interest in dance meant as a malleable matter with no classification and who have a wish to start or deepen their own choreographic research within this matter. Through the relationships between gesture and different forms and practices such as sound, words, and drawing, possible beginnings of an individual research will be investigated. The workshop investigates the power of the visual and the obscure reason why one image next to another begins to vibrate with a greater ‘meaning'.
