Daemon

Theatre

site specific x Flørli
“Daemon” is one of the many negative terms used to refer to the creature in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, and we chose it as the title of this site-specific performance for Flørli.
It is a solo by Enrico Casagrande, with the voice and the collaboration of Alexia Sarantopoulou – who plays Mary Shelley in the show presented in Stavanger on May 25-26, Frankenstein (a love story) – which we will prepare specifically for a location in the fjord.
It will address the terrible shift that turns love into hate and benevolence into violence, a jamming of the love mechanism that triggers an irreversible overturning. It didactically follows the tale of the monster to its creator on the mountains of Chamonix, focusing on the "turning evil" of the creature and exploring how a being with no identity or history, alone as a deer, chased, makes a world of its own and rebels.
