The ocarina is a type of flute made from clay invented in 1853 by Giuseppe Donati in Budrio, a town in the Metropolitan City of Bologna. After having made five ocarinas of different sizes, Donati formed a first group in 1863, which became a septet in 1870. They have performed with great success throughout Europe for years, proposing original music and arrangements of arias from famous operas.
The GOB has inherited the musical tradition of the ocarina groups present in Budrio over time, with attentiveness also to the creation of a new repertoire. Operating for many years, the ensemble has performed in more than a thousand concerts in Italy and abroad and has recorded numerous albums.
The tour is made with the co-operation by Min-On Global Music Network
